Luxe Rapid – Customizable Violet-Based Tan

This remarkable sunless tanning solution offers users a quick, natural-looking tan without the harmful effects of the sun. In this blog, we will explore the product’s exceptional features, its selling points and provide you with a guide on how to use it to achieve the perfect glow.

Quick Rinse

This alcohol-based solution eliminates the need for clients to wait around for an extended period with wet or sticky skin. This quick rinse solution is formulated with naturally derived ingredients and the purest (18%) DHA, excluding mineral oil, parabens, and Erythrulose. The Luxe Rapid solution allows you to control the depth of your tan by adjusting the time at which you rinse. This versatility can be appealing if you prefer a lighter tan for a subtle glow or a deeper tan for a more pronounced look. Rinse in as little as 2 hours, or a max of 5 hours.

Keep in mind your full color will develop over 24 hours.

Key Ingredients and Why We Love Them

The ingredients in the Luxe Rapid Solution have numerous benefits for the skin.

Dihydroxyacetone (DHA)

is a colorless sugar derived from sugar beets and sugar cane. When applied to the skin, DHA reacts with the amino acids in the dead skin cells on the skin’s surface, creating a natural-looking tan. It is considered safe for external use and approved by the FDA for sunless tanning products. The high DHA value (18%) in this formula allows the rapid solutions to be rinsed more quickly than a regular solution.

Glycerin

will help to trap moisture in the skin and deeply penetrate the skin for ultimate hydration.

Caramel

is a natural colorant that creates a brown color. Providing immediate color or a bronzing effect to the skin, it acts as a cosmetic colorant, similar to how makeup bronzers work. When applied to the skin during a spray tan session, the caramel in the solution helps create a temporary tan or bronzed appearance.

Violet Based Bronzer

Our rapid formula features violet undertones that produce deep brown tones. Violet-based bronzers are an excellent choice for clients with warm skin tones. These bronzers complement clients with yellow and gold undertones, resulting in a more neutral and natural-looking tan. They also provide an immediate and vibrant initial color to clients, instantly boosting their confidence with a sun-kissed glow. This immediate gratification sets a positive tone for the overall tanning experience. Additionally, bronzers simplify the application process for technicians, allowing them to visualize where the product has been applied, ensuring even coverage, and minimizing the chances of streaks or missed spots. Lastly, spray tan solution bronzers are renowned for their staining power. They adhere to the skin effectively, creating long-lasting, natural-looking results that endure daily activities, ensuring clients enjoy their beautifully bronzed appearance for an extended period.

When/When Not to Use a Rapid Solution

For clients who have never had a spray tan before, starting with a rapid solution is generally not recommended. Instead, opt for an 8-hour solution initially. This allows you to gauge the color and ensure they are comfortable with the timing and rinsing process. Rushing into a rapid tan without prior experience can lead to unexpected results, potentially leaving your client with a darker tan than initially desired. On the other hand, if your client is a seasoned tanner looking for a quick and convenient option, a rapid tanning solution can be a great choice to achieve that sun-kissed look without the extended waiting time.

How to price a Rapid Tan

When determining how to price a rapid spray tan solution versus an 8-hour option, it’s essential to consider the cost of the tanning solution itself. Rapid solutions tend to be more expensive due to their specialized formulations that expedite the tanning process. Therefore, you will need to factor in a higher cost for the rapid solution in your pricing.  If your clients are primarily looking for speedy results and are willing to pay extra for rapid tans, you have the opportunity to raise your prices to reflect the added convenience of this solution.

For example-

Rapid add-on: $5.00

Average Cost of goods for the add-on: $0.50

Profit per Rapid Add-on: $4.50

ROI: 900%

Aftercare

With Original Rapid being an alcohol-based solution, moisturizing will be essential to prolong the life of the spray tan. We recommend using our Body Renew moisturizer daily to keep your skin hydrated and to fight against premature fading. In addition to moisturizing, using the tan-safe Sjolie Body Wash will play an integral part in keeping the integrity of your tan. With proper aftercare, clients can expect their tan to last up to 7 days.

Common Troubleshooting Questions

Why is my client experiencing itchy skin after using the Rapid Solution?

Alcohol-based solutions can cause your skin to feel drier, and dry skin is more prone to itching. Be sure to send your client home with a tan-safe moisturizer that will keep them hydrated. Applying moisturizer daily will not only help with dry skin but will also help extend the life of their tan.

My client's tan wasn’t dark enough; what do I do?

The Luxe Rapid is formulated with the highest DHA percentage available, 18%! DHA can take up to 24 hours to fully develop, so allow enough time after rinsing for the solution to reach its full potential. If your tan did not develop dark enough, try wearing the solution for longer and increase wear in 30-minute increments to avoid over-development.
