Off-the-shelf solutions work great for most clients, but mixing lets you fine-tune DHA strength, skin benefits, fragrance, and undertone depth. Professional artists who mix solutions report higher client satisfaction, fewer repeats due to color mismatch, and better control over tan longevity.
Sjolie’s two solution lines — Original (aloe vera base, olive undertone) and Luxe (alcohol base, violet undertone) — form the foundation for infinite custom combinations. Each uses 2 oz per full-body tan, yielding 16 tans per quart, so precise mixing also helps you maximize every bottle.
Understanding Your Base Solutions
Original Line (Aloe Vera Base) — Hydrating, gentle, olive undertone creates golden results. Available in N°6 Light (6% DHA), N°9 Medium (9%), N°12 Dark (12%), and N°14 Dark Depth (14%). Enriched with aloe vera, walnut extract, vitamin E, vitamin C, and glycerin. Development: 6-10 hours.
Luxe Line (Alcohol Base) — Quick-drying, violet undertone creates deep chocolate-brown results. Available in N°9 Medium and N°12 Dark. Development: 4-6 hours.
Rapid Solutions (18% DHA) — Available in both lines. Rinse in 1-5 hours while color continues developing up to 24 hours.
Clear N°9 — Bronzer-free, 9% DHA, aloe-based. Perfect for brides who dislike bronzer residue.
DHA Booster & Additive Ratios
All concentrates follow a 1:256 ratio. Two full droppers per ounce increases DHA by approximately 1%. At 2 oz per spray, a single drop goes a long way.
Quick guide (per 2 oz spray): Concentrates = 1 drop. Shimmer drops = 1 drop. Scent drops = 2 drops. Maximum DHA boost: +2%.
Anti-Aging Concentrate — Niacinamide, bamboo extract, and pea extract for skin-firming benefits.
Skin Firming Concentrate — Caffeine and ivy extract to enhance skin tone and reduce texture.
