DHA is a safe and FDA-approved tanning agent found in self-tanning products. Applied to the skin, it interacts with amino acids present on its surface, resulting in an alluring sunless glow without any unnatural hue. Adding a pure DHA concentrate to your favorite spray tan formula can increase the DHA level by 1%. What is DHA?
Dihydroxyacetone is a colorless sugar derived from sugar cane and sugar beets. In the 1920s, German scientists first uncovered Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as a revolutionary skin-coloring agent but it wasn’t until the 1960’s that Coppertone revolutionized the tanning industry by introducing “Quick Tan,” a groundbreaking lotion that promised users an overnight bronze. This product was incredibly alluring for those who wanted to achieve sun-kissed skin without spending hours in direct sunlight and rapidly gained popularity among consumers looking for a convenient alternative. By 1973, Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) – the active ingredient in sunless tanning products – had gained approval from the Food and Drug Administration as a safe cosmetic product. From then onward, DHA-based self-tanner quickly grew popular amongst consumers desiring more consistent bronzing results for their skin without sunlight exposure!

Marley –
Highly recommended for anyone in the tanning business!
Taryn –
I do mobile tans and I don’t like to travel with a lot of product so I always carry the DHA with me – I love that I can use this to boost my solutions and not have to worry about stocking so many different solutions.
Miriam –
Perfect if your client wants to go darker, but isn’t quite ready to jump up an entire solution level.
Derek Miller –
The DHA Booster Drops are not required when using the Rapid Solutions because of their already high DHA % content. If the client is looking to achieve a deeper tan, we suggest wearing the solution for additional time. You can refer to our Ultra Rapid Solution page to determine the development color and wear time ratio!

I love Sjolie DHA Drops! Sjolie has 50% DHA drops where most other places have 35%! Its great to use to cuatomize any solution! I use it alot in the 14% for my select clients who want to look very dark. These DHA drops make it cost effective because you use less to get more!

I love the DHA drops! They’re a great way to tweak the color so it’s just right for all of your clients. It’s economical because I purchase the Sjolie Solution 9 and use the drops to darken the color. That way I avoid having to purchase different levels of solution.

Just the boost I needed to make make 9 into a 10.5%!!!
